What is it?
Collagen induction therapy involves the use of a rotary machine and micro needling pen which employs tiny needles to create micro wounds in the area affected by acne scars. These controlled wounds stimulate your body's natural healing process, triggering the production of collagen, elastin, and new skin cells to the targeted area. The influx of these regenerative components works to enhance the texture and overall condition of your skin, while simultaneously reducing the visibility of acne scars.
It is advised to avoid undergoing Skin Needling if you currently have or have had any of the following conditions:
- Open Wounds
- Active blemishes/pimples/herpes
- Eczema
- Sebaceous Hyperplasia (disorder of the sebaceous glands in which they become enlarged, producing yellow, shiny bumps on the face)
- An active bacterial or fungal infection
- Active cold sore breakouts (must be on anti-viral/L-Lysine)
- On Accutane (Must wait 1 year after last use)
- Going through any type of Chemo or Radiation
- Pregnant or Nursing
- Dark or Keloid Scarring
- Vascular Disease or Cardiac abnormalities
- Have unrealistic expectations
- Dermatological skin disorders
- Has or Had shingles on the face
